Durable and powerful camcorder batteries

Camcorders across makes have become inseparable part of our lives. Any memorable moment of our lives can be recorded real time with amazingly high definition clarity and sound with their help.

No wonder then that the moment one embarks on a family vacation or an official meeting or presentation, a camcorder proves quite handy.

The simple truth with all camcorders  of all makes – Sony, Hitachi, Olympus, JVC, Nikon, Sharp, Pentax, Panasonic, etc – is that they are only as good as the life of their batteries.

In other words, to state that Camcorder batteries form a vitalcomponent of the device would be saying the obvious.

Here, it is pertinent to know that basically you need to know your own requirements specifically to be able to make the perfect choice for battery replacement for your camcorder.

It is not sensible here to presume that as a regular user of a camcorder who has used it under different conditions; you would anyway be knowledgeable enough.  Any potential customer of batteries for camcorders ought to be aware of the following

v  The nature and extent of the usage that they are going to put their recording and shooting device to. Whether it is going to be an all indoors family and friends’ occasion or an out-and-out outdoors affair with some indefinite use entailed.

v  Most camcorders come equipped with the original battery pack and hence, the issue of buying a new set would arise only when there is a need for replacement. Match the specifications of your original battery with the new set before making the purchase.

v  When you are confused with what type of camcorder batteries to go for (Lithium-ion, Nickel- Metal Hydride, Nickel Cadmium), opt for the one that has a similar set of conditions prescribed for charging the device as your original battery.

Anton Buaer Types of batteries

Lithium-ion – Is the most popular as it tops the durability chart. The higher density of power apart, lithium cells can also store more memory. They are rechargeable and free from memory effect implying that you can charge them anytime including when the batteries are drained out.

Nickel-Metal Hydride – These are widely used as they are economical, can withstand all environmental conditions and have low maintenance cost. They fit the bill of most users.

Nickel Cadmium – This type is commonly found in older versions of camcorders. They can deal with higher power loads and are appropriate for portable power units.
